Pets at West
Hayes Barn
We
do allow dogs
at West Hayes
Barn, by prior
arrangement,
to discuss breeds
and number!
The barn is
in a fantastic
location for
dog walking
as you do not
need to step
more than fifty
yards on a road
of any description
to be able to
walk for miles.
The footpaths
and bridleways
on the Quantocks,
Exmoor and Blackdown
Hills are great
for both flat
and hilly walks,
as long or short
as you wish.
We provide,
in the barn
details of walks,
both close to
Halse and further
afield.
Many attractions
in Somerset
allow dogs,
which helps
create a great
holiday. A particular
favourite is
the West Somerset
Steam Railway
(approx 5mins).
Dogs are welcome
on the trains,
and actually
receive their
own tickets!
There are many
stations on
the 22 mile
railway, and
we have a great
book of walks
from them. Two
of the stations
are at the beach,
Blue Anchor
and Dunster,
and dogs are
allowed on these
beaches all
through the
year.
Many National
Trust properties
allow dogs into
their gardens
as do many of
the great gardens
nearby. We do
insist at West
Hayes that dogs
are never to
be left alone
in the barn.
Many of the
local pubs are
very dog friendly!
Indeed The New
Inn welcomes
dogs into the
bar area where
there are some
lovely tables
for eating!
We also request
that dogs are
not allowed
on furniture
or in any of
the bedrooms.
We have a partition
between the
kitchen and
living room
and we ask you
to leave the
dog in the kitchen
at night-time.
We have a dog
bed you are
welcome to borrow.
The garden here
is ideal for
dogs, being
totally enclosed,
with a secure
gate and fence.
